Help me grow!
- I thrive very well when the soil is kept moist but not wet.
- I love relatively low light, but will also do well in bright indirect light.
- Feed me with rich compost and a well-balanced water-soluble fertilizer, every 15 to 20 days, in my growing months of spring and early summer when I sprout new leaves.
- Removing yellowed or browned outer leaves regularly improves my appearance. And, remember to cut the leaves at the base where the leaf joins the main stalk with a pair of sharp scissors.
- The division is the most successful method of propagation to get new me.
- Show me mere consistent care and you will be greatly rewarded with my beauty.
FAQs
- Why am I turning to yellow color?
When I am kept too wet, my leaves can rapidly turn to yellow and further to brown color and ultimately the stems may collapse. Plant me in a pot with good drainage, and water only when the top 1-2 inches of the soil is dry. - Should you discard yellow leaves off me?
Prune away the yellow leaves off me. They are dead weight, and pruning them will let me focus my energy on growing new leaves. - Why are my leaves limping or drooping and stems rotting?
This could be caused by overwatering, although more likely by cold temperatures or exposure to drafts. Fix that! - Am I safe for pets?
Yes, I am non-toxic to animals.
